About Aftershock
"AFTERSHOCK
is an 9-piece jazz-rock and R&B band from the Placerville/Sacramento
area. Taking popular tunes from the 40's through the 80's, and
arranging them in their own way with superb voicing's for their
4-horn section and powerful vocal harmonies, this band is designed
to get you out of your seat and dancing in the aisles. We dare
you to stay seated!
After their meeting in the late 90's "Philly' Joe Littel & Gerry Jonutz started what they hoped to be a "high energy", un-inhibited Funk, Jazz-rock, R & B band. The idea was not to limit the band to copying verbatim cover tunes but add their individual twist to the music. This idea allowed the band to create what became a very distinctive sound that grooves and creates an energy you can't help but want to get up and dance. The idea grew and evolved and after changing a few members and adding a few more in 2004 Aftershock was born and to this day continues to grow and improve it's musical dynamic.
Over the last six years, Aftershock's diverse repertoire has allowed
the band to play a variety of venues, which would include; arts &
wine festivals and brew fests; county fairs; Sacramento King's
games; corporate events; private parties; weddings, local clubs and
restaurants. Some of our favorite seasonal events include;
Placerville's Music in the Plaza; the Red Hawk Casino and The
Sacramento Jazz Jubilee."
